Natural Resources Consulting Engineers, Inc.; 1996 (20 January); Financing Opportunities Report: Cascade Reservoir Irrigation Management Plan; 3 1 p + appendices.
A cost-benefit analysis of proposed improvement and management practices in the Cascade Reservoir drainage basin. Report identifies phosphorus reduction improvements and benefits as (1) Diversion site improvements: up to a 5% reduction in diversions and I% phosphorus reduction from increased stream flow, improved water management and irrigation efficiency. (2) Wetland development improvements: up to 7.5% phosphorus reduction due to sediment deposition and reduced erosion. (3) Conversion to sprinkler irrigation: phosphorus reduction of up to 16.2% for currently irrigated areas from increased efficiency of water use. (4) Stream-bank erosion control improvements: phosphorus reduction of up to 3%. (5) Pipeline project improvements/consolidation: increased stream flow volume and reduction in sediment loading. All proposed improvements show a positive benefit/cost ratio except pipeline consolidation. Erosion controls and diversion site improvements show the highest benefit/cost ratios.
